Also, the slump in equity markets overnight boosted the liquidity demand for the Dollar. In addition, geopolitical risks in the Middle East increased safe-haven demand for the Dollar after an explosion at a Gaza hospital that killed hundreds complicated diplomatic efforts to contain the Israeli-Hamas conflict. However, dovish comments from Fed Governor Waller were seen to be bearish for the Dollar when he said, "I believe we can wait, watch, and see how the economy evolves before making definitive moves on the path of the policy rate."
