Chapter 4  Trading Time

Forex trading is a 24-hour market that operates from Sunday 5:00 pm Eastern Time (ET) through Friday 5:00 pm ET. However, the market is not always equally active throughout the day. The most active trading hours occur during the overlap of trading sessions between different regions of the world. Here's a breakdown of the trading sessions and their approximate local times:

1) Asian session: 7:00 pm ET to 4:00 am ET (Tokyo, Singapore, Hong Kong)
2) European session: 3:00 am ET to 12:00 pm ET (London, Frankfurt, Zurich)
3) North American session: 8:00 am ET to 5:00 pm ET (New York)

During the overlap of two trading sessions, there is typically a higher volume of trades and greater price volatility. The most active overlap occurs during the European and North American sessions, from 8:00 am ET to 12:00 pm ET. However, it's important to note that there can still be significant price movements and trading opportunities outside of these hours, depending on various market factors.
